So you are probably wondering- what is an Air Racer?  Air Racers are gliders made from oak tag (thick paper) that are folded and assembled to take advantage of aerodynamics.

Class Procedure-

Students draw the layout of the air racer. Once all parts have been drawn, students cut the parts out. Next, students design their air racer.

Lab Procedure-

Students use the box and pan break to fold their parts. The air racer is assembled using hot glue. The brad is then attached to launch the air racer.

Purpose-

This is a great project that helps develop measuring skills as well as drafting skills. Accuracy is crucial for this project to work correctly.
